A Gesture...

The environment that allows the existence of life is a miracle in itself and speaks for its own divinity. As I go about talking about the experiment and the hypothesis, we shall certainly need the help of some privileges and powers given to us humans that makes us more sophisticated than the other species who are part of the same environment. For example, the power to communicate, the power to desire…and so on. The desire of a seeker is a powerful tool. It suggests the acknowledgment of his own ignorance and realization that he is still away from the real ‘self’ that he is.
I however believe that we humans have a very limited understanding of our environment and ourselves, so to be humble and acknowledge our own limitations can in a way benefit us in our journey towards self- exploration. There are some basic steps that I feel can help us in taking up this journey towards self- awareness/ realization and can help in restoring our lost sense of belonging. The very first step I feel is just being humble and grateful towards the humblest being, i.e. Mother Earth.

The gesture
I would call this step the seeding process. As a seed is offered to mother earth, and if she blesses it, it will be allowed to sprout and spread its roots and would grow to its full potential.
In order to humble down, a seeker may just sit on mother earth with bare feet and touch the element with bare hands with a sense of gratitude in his/her heart. Making a physical connection by touching the earth with bare hands is one essential gesture as we begin this experiment.
As we touch while we sit on the earth, we can communicate with the earth in simple words,
“Mother Earth, we want to thank you for supporting our existence. Please make us humble and grounded and prepare us for our journey towards our ‘self-realization’.”
As we offer our words, we can wait for the response of the element. Now here, we are talking about the ‘communication’ that is, the 'two- way dialogue'. Therefore, I suggest a seeker to have an open mind as the response might not contain any words, but it might just be a pause- a sound of ‘silence’. Sitting more while we listen to this silence, is the beginning of a meditation practice…a practice where we shall be doing more such experiments. And just in case if the mind is overcrowded with thoughts and even after offering the above words, the mind doesn’t calm down...then one must sit longer in meditation (without focussing on a point but by just observing the inner space) and in any case, should repeat this practice every day for at least a few minutes for there is already a lot of toxicity we are carrying from the darkness of this era...and to come out of it is going to require some patience and a regular dose of vitamin ‘E’ i.e. vitamin ‘earthing’.
